After our last school year Story Time last week, we wanted to take the time to say thank you to all of our kids, parents, and caregivers who participated in our Story Time’s over this last school year.
We have LOVED all the wonderful noise that has filled our Library on Wednesdays! From the laughter at silly books, to stretching our bodies and getting the wiggles out, to all the fun stories shared from favorite little friends, (and of course all the bubbles) it has been an absolute joy!
We will be taking a short break from Story Time for a couple of weeks as we get prepared for our Summer Reading Program, which will start the first week in June (Announcement coming soon!).
We look forward to seeing everyone this summer!

With help from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and the Space Science Institute, The STAR Library Network has been able to distribute 5 million solar eclipse glasses to 10,000 public libraries across the country. We applied last fall for solar eclipse glasses and we recently received 500 pairs!
These glasses are FREE! You may pick them up anytime this week through the solar eclipse next Monday, April 8th. We only ask that you take enough for yourself and family members and that the glasses are NOT sold. If you have any questions about the glasses please feel free to call the Library!

Join us in celebrating Women’s History Month for March!
As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, our book display this week is for our young readers!
Our display is filled with books about inspiring, courageous, strong women- be it in history, as authors, or in the characters that fill the pages of some of our favorite books.
“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” — Helen Keller, author and disability rights activist
Stop by the Library this week and check them out!

Every year, March is designated Women’s History Month by presidential proclamation. The month is set aside to honor women’s contributions in American history.
Women’s History Month began as a local celebration in Santa Rosa, California. The Education Task Force of the Sonoma County Commission on the Status of Women planned and executed a “Women’s History Week” celebration in 1978. The organizers selected the week of March 8 to correspond with International Women’s Day. The movement spread across the country as other communities initiated their own Women’s History Week celebrations the following year.
In 1980, a consortium of women’s groups and historians—led by the National Women’s History Project (now the National Women’s History Alliance)—successfully lobbied for national recognition. In February 1980, President Jimmy Carter issued the first Presidential Proclamation declaring the Week of March 8th 1980 as National Women’s History Week.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month please stop by and check out a few of the books we have about some inspiring and accomplished women!

Some new books to keep you warm during this cold spell!
